La GTX780 ne sera pas basé sur le GK110 ?

It was reported by Sweclockers earlier this month that NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 780 would be based on the GK110 Core, however OBR over at his blog has said that the next generation flagship “GTX 780″ would instead feature a different chip one we haven’t heard of yet.

Although OBR doesn’t has any prove to backup his claim except a source whose credibility remains unknown. The GK110 core is currently being shipped with the Tesla K20 unit for HPC sector whereas the GK104 core remains the top offering for consumers. It was said by NVIDIA that the GK110 would be made available to consumer “GeForce” market if there’s demand for it and competition from the Red team.

According to the source, both successors to the GTX 680 and GTX 670 would feature a different chip, we don’t have any exact details on that yet but the codename would be GK114 if NVIDIA opts to keep GK110 to remain as an HPC GPU only.

Performance wise its to early to speculate on the new chip but if NVIDIA doesn’t goes GK110 on its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 GPU, then that could mean that it doesn’t see any potential danger from the upcoming HD 8000 Sea Island cards. Launch of the new GPU is expected sometime in Q2 2013. It would be great to see what kind of competition both GPU makers bring with their new cards in 2013.

Nvidia ne voyant pas un si grand danger du coté rouge qu'il garderont le GK110 pour les cartes tesla et donc nous aurons le GK114 ( seconde génération du GK104, GTX680/670 ) comme prochain "high end".....

Si cette rumeur est vrai c'est triste Nous n'aurons qu'un update du genre GTX480 à la GTX580 et non un 20-30% de boots VS les GTX680/670.

si c'Est le cas je crois qu'il s'en foute un peu pas mal .... il save qui vont faire du profit en masse pareille ... c'est sa qui est triste selon moi lol
